Dear Readers

Author: Fr Mieczysław Piotrowski S.Chr.

The Mystery of Christmas makes us realize anew how much God has loved us all, sinners, revealing the immensity of his Mercy. True God becomes true man and unites with every man. He takes upon himself all suffering and sins from the life history of every man. He does this to “destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8) and takes us from death to the fullness of life and love.

Only thanks to the faith in Jesus Christ and in communion with him, does our life have sense, does our suffering and death become the road to utter bliss in heaven. This is the wellspring of our joy at Christmas. Jesus Christ – true God who has become true man – is with us and will remain with us “always, to the close of the age” (Matt 28:20).

He is with us to offer himself to us – especially in the sacraments of penance and the Eucharist. “ ‘And the Word became flesh’ – this is the truth about the Bethlehem stable, but it is realized in another form,” St. Edith Stein writes. “ ‘He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life’ (John 6:54). The Saviour knows that we are, and will remain, weak people, forced to struggle daily with our imperfections; therefore, he offers us truly divine help. As our earthly body needs daily bread, Divine life in us requires nourishment as well. ‘I am the bread which came down from heaven’ (John 6:41). He who accepts him as his daily bread witnesses the daily fulfilment of the Mystery of Christmas, the miracle of the Divine Word becoming flesh.”

May the joy of the Mystery of Christmas engulf and transform your entire life so that you love Christ with your whole heart and are joyful witnesses of faith in him in daily persistent prayer, in an effort to live according to the precepts of the Gospel, in the sacraments of penance and the Eucharist, and in sacrificial love for your neighbours.

We wish to wholeheartedly thank you for your spiritual and material support of the work of evangelizing the world carried out by “Love One Another!” Your support has helped us print our magazine already in 21 languages and send it to mission countries. Recently, owing to God’s help, the prayers of many people and material contributions from our readers, we have been able to publish the first issue in Arabic. Please tell those around you who speak this language about it so that the Divine Word can reach everyone who is in need of it.

It is you who deserve the acknowledgments we receive from around the world. Everyday we pray the rosary and chaplet of Divine Mercy for you and each Friday Mass is celebrated in your intentions. Please remember about our poor brethren in Africa and Asia, who cannot afford even to cover the costs of printing our magazine, but need spiritual support and words of hope, peace and love as well. Please win new readers for our magazine and send us your testimonies of religious experience for publication.

I bless you all from the bottom of my heart!
